FAQs

How do I schedule an appointment with Far Hills Acupuncture?

We like to do things with our own style of customer service and to give every patient individual attention. To Schedule we request that you call us at 937-681-7881 or email us at fritz@farhillsacupuncture.com.

Do you take insurance? And are you a medicare provider?

Since the beginning of Fritz Froehlich’s practice in 1998, we have not accepted or filed insurance claims. However, upon request our office can provide a superbill that you can seek reimbursements through your own insurance.

Why do you NOT accept insurance?

Typically insurance companies dictate a standard of care and the reimbursement for that care. We treat each patient as a unique individual and tailor our treatment plans to best suit each individual person. The cost incurred in filing for reimbursement can at times exceed the return.

What is Far Hills Acupuncture’s cancellation policy for missing appointments?

Far Hills Acupuncture recognizes and agrees that scheduling an appointment involves the reservation of time specifically for the patient, and that consequently, a minimum of 24-hour notice is required to reschedule or cancel an appointment. This allows Far Hills Acupuncture a chance to fill the vacancy.

Unless otherwise agreed to in advance, $65 will be charged for sessions missed, without timely notification. Each and every client is informed of this in the consent to treat paperwork, that is filled out prior to first treatment.

How long are the sessions?

The first visit is generally 1.5 hours. This includes paperwork, consultation, acupuncture diagnosis and treatment plan, and the initial treatment. Follow-up visits are generally 1 hour. This includes the check-in, a discussion with your practitioner, and the treatment.

What should I bring and wear to my appointment?

We want you to be as comfortable as possible during your treatment. Wear comfortable clothing and easy to remove shoes. Should you have a condition that requires removal of clothing, we have cloth medical gowns and ample sheets to help prevent any unnecessary exposure.

Is acupuncture painful?

Acupuncture involves the insertion of needles. It is always possible to hit nerves and/or blood vessels. We try very hard to make the process as painless as possible. We also have a specific style of acupuncture that uses a non-inserting needle called Shakuju Therapy if needles are of concern.

Do you treat children and people under 18 years of age?

Absolutely we do treat minors with the signed, supervised and express consent of their legal guardians. We have many modalities and some are well suited for Children. Fritz Froehlich regularly performs Shakuju therapy treatments and acupressure (non-invasive) treatments with a teishin on children. Young sports athletes also received the benefits of acupuncture from Fritz Froehlich.

Are the acupuncture needles single-use needles?

Yes, as a practice we only use single-use and pre-packaged sterile needles for each patient. We take all modern medical guidelines and precautions to keep ourselves and our patients healthy and safe.

Covid-19 is over, why do you still wear masks?

First and foremost, Covid-19 is now endemic and will be with humanity for generations to come. However, we do not mask simply for Covid-19 only. In our practice, we see many people with compromised and weakened immune systems. We mask to help prevent the spread of anything between patients. We politely ask when you come in to mask up, and we even provide disposable masks should you need one.

It is not mandatory to wear a mask, but it is a courtesy to respect the health of your practitioner and the community in which he treats.

Fritz Froehlich gives homework to certain patients depending on the conditions he is treating. What kinds of “Homework” does he give to patients?

Different conditions can benefit from additional treatments or services. We teach such treatments as Korean Hand Therapy, electrostimulation, kinesio taping, Tai Chi exercises, intentional structure realignment, mediation, and stretching exercises. Fritz Froehlich draws upon his 25+ years as an acupuncturist, 40+ years of martial arts practice, and extensive medical training to tailor homework treatments to each individual.
